Describes academic activities of University of Iowa alumni, Edmund Skellings, who started a creative writing program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Includes photographs of Skellings with University of Alaska President William Wood and Iowa poet Paul Engle. Engle directed the Iowa Writer's Workshop at the University of Iowa.
